Hello!

I am a Master's student at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in Art Education. I earned my BFA in Art Education from the University of Arkansas in 2021, with a focus on painting and drawing. I worked as a teaching instructor at Walden Pond Interarts Learning Studio in San Antonio and at the Contemporary Austin's Art School located at the Laguna Gloria. Currently, I serve as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas at Austin while working on my Capstone project to receive my Masters in Art Education. Throughout my time as both a student and a teacher, I have remained committed to continuous professional and artistic growth in my journey as an art educator.

About

Within the realm of education, I am guided by the belief that there is innate creativity present within each individual. This inherent source of inspiration warrants both protection and celebration. It encapsulates the pure magic of one's boundless capacity for creation and expression, which will continually serve us throughout our lives.

As an educator, I embrace the unique role bestowed upon teachers. It is a position that grants an unparalleled opportunity to support students in developing their abilities and passions. As an educator, my objective is to foster a classroom environment where students are not only challenged to grow artistically, but also feel secure, supported, and valued for who they are.

I aspire to cultivate a mindset in my students that places emphasis on the value of exploration and continual growth within the creative process. I believe in encouraging students to make new discoveries and take chances with their art. In art, failure is not a setback but an invitation to continual learning. I advocate for every student's right to experience the simple joy of artistic expression, exploring their abilities with confidence. By imparting art education through this lens, my aim is to equip students with the knowledge of artistic behaviors and skills while preserving their love for art, encouraging the enduring qualities of freedom, curiosity, and imagination reminiscent of their inner child.

In essence, my teaching philosophy revolves around creating a nurturing educational environment where students can thrive academically, emotionally, creatively, ultimately contributing to a life grounded in resilience, empathy, and  innovation.
